Local governments play a key role in cutting global carbon emissions. It is a welcome sign that several hundred cities have already set targets to reach carbon neutrality. Achieving this goal requires ambitious and wide-ranging measures and policies in fields such as energy, industry, transportation and power generation. With Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water) exploring the water-energy nexus in the urban context, this session will suggest a variety of policy and technology options to help reach carbon neutrality by 2050.
