Metropolis, with the support of UCLG, launched in 2021 the drawing contest “Metropolis Through Children’s Eyes”. Nearly 1,200 children from metropolises across five continents answered the question “how do you imagine a better future for your city?” in a drawing. The objective was to bring children’s voices into the metropolitan policy debate in the form of policy recommendations. In this interactive session, Mayors from five major cities will react to some of those drawings and the insights they provide on which elements of the metropolis are essential to children’s everyday lives, and how children can be full participants in the metropolis.
