The Future of Multilevel Governance to Localize Effectively the Global Agendas and Recover from Complex Crises

Local Democracy | Multilateralism | Multilevel Governance | Resilience

Barcelona Provincial Government

Interpretation EN – ES – FR – KO

No sphere of government has the ability to tackle complex crises and achieve the Agenda 2030 on its own. Effective and fair multilevel governance through reinforced local democracy and subsidiarity is the only way for local and regional governments to respond to the increasing share of responsibilities, territorial fragmentation and complex emergencies. The session aims to provide practical information, the appropriate frameworks, knowledge and resources to rethink the challenges of decentralization, strengthen multilevel governance and deal with regional and local inequalities.
