Gender

Interpretation EN – ES – FR – KO

The 2063 agenda on “the Africa we want”, highlights the importance of ensuring gender equity in the development process of the continent. In view of this, in 2011, the Network of Locally Elected Women of Africa (REFELA) was established, to ensure women leaders’ voices would be heard. This celebratory moment will reflect on the achievements of the network, and strategize its next steps, such as toward the implementation of the Charter of Local Governments for Gender Equality in Africa.
